Anthea Amore is a Byron Bay based vegan chef and cookbook author

Anthea Amore is a Byron Bay–based vegan chef, author, and the creative force behind Organic Passion Catering, bringing over three decades of experience to her globally inspired approach to plant-based cuisine.

Her connection to food began in childhood beside her Italian grandmother, where a love of simple ingredients, tradition, and flavour was first nurtured—shaping her philosophy of honest food, prepared with care and guided by intuition.

Her culinary journey has taken her across the UK, Europe, and Asia, where she immersed herself in diverse food cultures and refined her ability to reimagine traditional dishes through a wholefood, plant-based lens. From professional kitchens to private catering, her work has been shaped by years of living abroad and creating vegan food for retreats, functions and intimate events.

Food is her calling – it runs through her blood and is her love language

In the late 1990s, Anthea refined her craft at the iconic Food for Friends in Brighton—one of the UK’s pioneering vegetarian restaurants— where she deepened her knowledge and evolved a globally inspired expression of plant-based cuisine. She travelled through Europe, catering private events in the south of France and working as a resident chef for a yoga retreat in Lanzarote, Canary Islands, immersed in a culture of seasonal, nourishing food and holistic living.

Since returning to Byron Bay in 2003, Anthea has built a highly regarded vegan catering business, creating nourishing, thoughtfully considered food for retreats, weddings, and events, as well as managing the café and kitchen at Santos Organics.

Her food reflects her journey—globally inspired and intuitive, where simplicity allows the purest ingredients to shine.

Plant-Based Chef and Author of two Best-selling recipe books

What if healthy food wasn’t a compromise—but a true elevation? In Anthea Amore’s acclaimed cookbooks PASSION and HUNGRY she lays the foundation of her signature philosophy, bringing together over 250 organic, plant-based recipes shaped by decades in professional kitchens. Her approach centres on simple, nutrient-dense foods that are both indulgent and beautifully balanced in flavour. PASSION and HUNGRY celebrate the power of wholefoods—blending superfoods, reimagined classics, and a deeper connection between food, wellbeing, and the planet.

From comforting breakfasts and vibrant lunches to hearty dinners and indulgent sweet treats, her gluten-free, dairy-free, and refined sugar-free recipes are made with every-day ingredients designed to make healthy eating feel effortless.

At the heart of her work is a commitment to organic, locally sourced ingredients, sustainability, and the belief that food should be simple, nourishing, and bring people together. Her recipes inspire a way of eating that is as accessible as it is deeply satisfying.
